Kennedy and I got to spend some time down in Santa Monica with sisters, cousins and Grandma Barb! All the little kidlets kept us busy all weekend, but we had a blast together with all the girls! We enjoyed the Santa Monica Pier, ferris wheel, beach time, farmer’s market, movie time, delicious food, relaxing, and lots of good shopping! Thanks for the fun trip girls!

On Saturday we wanted an adventure, so we headed down to Corpus Christi. We toured the USS Lexington (an old aircraft carrier that’s a floating museum now). It was interesting to learn more about and neat to explore.

We then headed over to Port Aransas and took a ferry ride to Mustang Island. We did a little boogie boardin and had fun in the sun. Kennedy loved the beach and had a blast playing in the sand, oh and eating it too :)

We’ll definitely be back again to get more sand in our hair, we had a great time together as a family!

I (Zak) am posting today only because I promised “Grandma” we’d have pictures up tonight. And since I am already dangerously close to getting cut out of the will, I better not flake out on this one.
Here we have our pre-birthday party in St. George. Kennedy’s first attempt at indulging in a paradise of sugary goodness didn’t go down the way we expected.
Things looked good initially…
But the distraction of colorful sprinkles and sticky icing killed her appetite… 
We all thought her apparent distaste for baked goods was hilarious…
It was not.
On her actual birthday, we decided to go a little more low-key. A simple cupcake, and only 3 spectators.

We are Deep in the Heart of Texas again! We’ve known that we were going to move to Texas for the past 7 months and it’s actually here now. The movers came and packed everything up and loaded the truck in Orem on June 29 and 30. Then we spent 8 days in Southern Utah with our families, which was wonderful! We arrived in Texas on Wed. night and the movers delivered everything to us on Thursday and we spent the next few days unpacking and organizing! We hope to only be in this apartment for a few months while we try to find a house, so sadly lots of our stuff is still in boxes. We are feeling a little more settled now though. Zak started his first day of work yesterday and is enjoying it so far.

We sure love going to Lake Powell, we have so many fun memories there! We’ll admit it was a lot more work with an almost one year old, but we still had a blast! We went July 1-5 with Zak’s family. It was a nice vacation before we headed down to Texas.

We stayed up Warm Creek most of the time, but the last night we parked the houseboat at Antelope Marina to watch the fireworks.
