Spring Break Visitors

The day after we got back from Utah, my cousin Melanie and her family came to stay with us and see San Antonio for a few days during their spring break.  It was fun showing them around, and Kennedy had a great time having 2 little girls to play with all the time!  She was sad when they left and walked around the house for a couple of days after saying “Kaylee, Brooke, Kaylee.”

Girl’s Week in Utah

Kennedy and I were able to go to Utah for a few days the middle of March for a Girl’s weekend with Zak’s family in St. George. We were also able to go up to Salt Lake for my future sister-in-law Lanée’s bridal shower.  It was so fun being able to see so much family for both events!

We had Girl’s Week at my brother and sister-in-law’s beautiful home.  We packed a lot in and had tons of fun!  We had a baby shower for a cousin, a bridal shower for another cousin, lots of shopping, hot tubing, crafting, movie watching, playing an intense game of spoons, lots of chatting and just had fun being together with the girls!

It was fun to see them all together.    DSC_1047Sadly I didn’t get one single picture of Lanée’s shower, but we had a good time with all the family! (I stole some engagement pics from their blog though) I’m sure excited to be getting such a great sister-in-law!  They are such a cute couple and perfect for each other, we are excited for their wedding in May!

San Antonio Rodeo

In February we went to the San Antonio Rodeo. Well, we didn’t actually go to a Rodeo event, we just enjoyed the carnival rides, petting zoo and other things going on. This should come as no surprise, but the rodeo is quite the big deal here in Texas. We sure stuck out since we weren’t wearing cowboy boots, a cowboy hat or plaid! We all had fun together exploring things one evening. Kennedy was mesmerized by all the carnival lights and loved looking around at all the people and things!

I was so excited to take Kennedy on the Carousel and we thought she would love it and scream when she had to get off like most other kids do. Well as you can see from the pictures, she didn’t like it so much, but I’m a mean mom and made her ride it anyway…twice! I’m pretty sure she liked it eventually. DSC_0763 Kind of scaredDSC_0766 “Dad, do I have to do this?”DSC_0768 “I’m not sure about this guys…here’s a half smile”    DSC_0812DSC_0787 She really wanted to go on this animal train ride, but she was too small,  she enjoyed watching it with dad though.DSC_0790 Haha, love this picture! She’s doing her elephant sound.

I even joined in on the fun and went down the slide.
