Quadrangle Park

Last Friday we went with some friends to Quadrangle Park in Fort Sam Houston to feed the deer, ducks, geese and peacocks.  It was really neat to see all the animals and have them eat the carrots and apples right out of our hands. The kids had a great time. We’ll definitely be going back again!

She was a bit scared at first when they came right up to us, but soon got brave and wanted to feed the deer a carrot herself! We were watching our friend Allie that day, so she came too, but I couldn’t get a picture of both of them looking at me at the same time :) Allie even got brave and fed the deer too. I’m not sure who ate more carrots and apples…the kids or the animals :) Both these deer wanted Maddie’s carrot!We threw this apple down for the deer but this peacock got to it first and pecked at and ate half of it, it was funny to watch!   Chasing the deer  We are always finding new fun things to do in San Antonio and love doing them with friends!

St. George Trip

We drove to St. George the middle of August for a quick vacation to see our families!  It was a long 20 hour drive, but we survived and it wasn’t nearly as bad as we thought it might be. Kennedy actually did really well.  We spent the first couple of days in St. George seeing family and had a great time! Sadly, I didn’t take as many pictures as I would’ve liked of our happenings, but here’s what I did get.

We went to the splash pad with aunt Sharla and cousin Bree (sadly I didn’t get any pictures with them.) Kennedy had a blast!

We got our family pictures taken and also took Jensen family pictures! It turned out to be a bit difficult with a 2 year old, but we managed to get a few good ones.     We even got to celebrate with my dad on his birthday! Kennedy loved helping him blow out the candles!After the birthday celebrations we headed to Lake Powell- that post coming soon! 

Random Kennedy

Some of these pictures are old, but I thought I’d post them anyways. Kennedy is always making us laugh! She loves books!

Animals at the Library

A group called Happy Tails came to the Library for the end of the summer program and brought all kinds of animals to show and talk about, so we went with some friends to check it out. We saw a lemur, python, porcupine, wallaby, kikachu and alpaca. Kennedy  even got to touch the porcupine. The library system out here is really good and has lots of fun activities for the kids.

Sea World with Friends

We only live 10 minutes away from Sea World so we purchased a season pass this year and it has definitely been put to good use! We enjoy going at least once a week with friends and the water park helps keep us cool during the hot Texas summers!

Uncle Spencer’s Visit

My brother came for a quick visit the middle of July. He was only here for 2 days, but we crammed quite a bit in and had lots of fun!  We spent a day at Sea World, took him to Rudy’s, celebrated Kennedy’s Birthday, played games, went to the park, and made some yummy food. Spencer couldn’t go anywhere without Kennedy at his side, she loved having him here as did we! Love this picture! Sea World Kennedy loved his BYU hat!Birthday french toast and Kennedy ''helping’ with the game. The Park  Kennedy has never really liked slides in the past,  but this night at the park she walked over to the big slide, plopped down and slid away! Zak was with her and it kind of freaked him out at first. She loved it right away and went over and over again, she went more than 10 times in a row that night and would’ve gone more if we had let her.

Polka Dot Party

“Now Kennedy is two, that’s truer than true. There’s a party to attend and we’re inviting you!

If you can come, you should. It’ll be fun, and fun is good

From there to here, and here to there, you’ll see polka dots everywhere.”

We decided to have a friend party for Kennedy this year and I had way too much fun with the polka dot theme. I know call me crazy, she’s two and probably won’t even remember it, but I couldn’t help myself.

All the games and food had to do with Orange, Yellow and Pink Polka Dots. We blew bubbles, played put the dot on the dog, read “Put me in the Zoo”, played with balloons and found pom-pom balls throughout the house. We ate cheese puff balls, cantaloupe and watermelon balls, cupcakes, dot pb&j sandwiches, cake and ice cream.

 

I made the banner and covered party hats with polka dot fabric.

I decided I wanted to make Kennedy’s cake this year, so I had fun experimenting with fondant. Kennedy making bubbles for everyone Bubbles, Dot on the Dog, Pom-pom balls, “Put me in the Zoo” Making her wish…  Eating Cake!One content girl with birthday cake!   Opening PresentsCute birthday girl, with a darling purse a friend made her. Party Time!     

Kennedy had a great time having all her friends over and loved all the fun new toys she got.  Thanks everyone, we had a blast. It was really fun having Uncle Spencer here to celebrate with us too.    We can’t believe we have a two year old now!
