It’s been raining quite a bit here lately, but when the weather has been good we try to get outside and enjoy the sun. This is one of the days we went to the park with Kennedy’s friend Chandler and his mom, isn’t he cute?! The kids had a great time sliding and playing at the park and us moms had a nice time chatting.

Counter space
Greetings blog stalkers, Zak here. I’ve been keeping a low pr0file lately, but I’ve wandered out of my cave for a moment to share a handyman’s update.
To begin, I’d like to say that we really like our house. It’s got everything we need and most of what we want. But one of the things we wished it had was more counter space. We’ve made due with the space we have, but often find it filling up all too quick. We knew this would be an issue when we bought the house but saw an opportunity in that vast open space you see between counters. With some elbow grease, a few new power tools and a little luck, we were able to find everything we needed to put in this lovely addition.
Now we’ve got what feels like twice the counter space, with the added bonus of more drawers and cupboards. It’s been very nice to have. It was more work to put this in than I expected, but it turned out good. I have to give props to my dad for teaching me everything I needed to know to put this all together and make it look like it has always been there.
Kennedy found the construction phase very entertaining. She did a lot more ‘helping’ than the pictures show, but you get the idea.

18 Months!
Kennedy turned 18 months today! You know what that means…….yep NURSERY tomorrow!! Wahoo! She’s growing up way too fast! She celebrated by playing in all the balloons, which she loves, and watching 101 Dalmations! (Really she’s been playing in them the last few days, but today I finally got some action shots.)
Sorry for the picture overload, but there were too many cute pics to just post one. I think the grandmas will be ok with it though :)
Such a cutie!
Looks like she just blew up that balloon, haha.
Her concerned/silly face, it makes me laugh :)
She loves running or crawling through all the balloons and kicking or hitting them!
Love that smile!
Happy Half-Birthday Kennedy Rose!

Birthday Fun
This is what I woke up to on my birthday! Zak is always doing such fun surprises for me, he’s such a good hubby! I felt special all day with all these decorations around the house.
These pictures don’t do it justice! You could tell he spent a couple hours during the night decorating and blowing up 100 balloons!
He also made me breakfast and went into work later and came home early to spend more time with Kennedy and I that day. That night he arranged for a babysitter and took me to Saltgrass Steakhouse, which was yummy! Then we spent a couple hours at Dave & Busters playing all kinds of games, we felt like kids again:). We had a fun night together! Thanks for making it a great day Zak! Also thanks for all your calls, texts, e-mails, messages and visits on my birthday, it made me happy!

Holidays in Utah!
We were able to spend Dec. 18-29 in Utah for the Holidays. It was so fun to be back in St. George and be together with both of our families!
We spent the first few days with my family at our cabin in Pine Valley. It was nice to be all together again. It was such a relaxing time; we enjoyed playing lots of games, sledding and playing in the snow, the sauna, watching movies, eating yummy food, an early Christmas with Christian and Lanee and just being together with everyone!
Having fun with Spencer and Elyse playing on the frozen lake at Pine Valley
Reading her new Pinkalicious book with aunt Lanee
Kennedy helped open these chocolates and as soon as she saw what they were, she looked up at Lanee and started signing and saying ‘pees’ (please) in the cutest little voice. It’s hard to deny her anything when she asks so politely!
Kennedy loved going outside with dad, but hated coming back in.
Kennedy wearing Grandpa’s big crazy neon gloves!
Pictures of the family after church on Sunday
Kennedy just being her cute self. She loves laying on the floor these days and moving her legs around, it’s funny.
The rest of our time we spent in St. George with both our families. We were also able to spend some time with friends catching up, which was nice. Reading stories with cousins and Grandma Barb
Funny girl just chillin in George’s car seat sucking on a slinky…
Having fun at Gma and Gpas house playing in the rocking chair
Our Christmas morning started at 2 am with Kennedy throwing up. Poor girl got the flu and was up all night throwing up every 10 minutes! So, sadly we don’t have many pictures from Christmas day. Opening Pajamas with the cousins on Christmas Eve
We were supposed to fly home Sunday evening, Dec. 27, but Zak got the nasty flu bug the night before and I got it that morning. Zak had to be to work that Monday and luckily he was better Sunday so we sent him home alone. The flu hit me hard and zapped my energy, so I ended up staying until Tuesday afternoon until I had the energy to fly home with Kennedy. It was a bummer way to end our trip, but we still had a great time the rest of it. Sadly Kennedy passed the flu bug to a total of 8 of us, so I think our families were ready for us to leave and take the bug back to Texas with us!
Once back in Texas we opened up our presents from each other and had fun watching Kennedy play with her new toys. It was kind of fun having Christmas spread out over a week.Love that cute smile and cute girl!
Thanks to our families for making our Christmas and time in Utah so wonderful! We love being with you and appreciate all you do for us! We are so blessed to have such great supportive families.
