Fun Weekend!

We had a great weekend together as a family and here are some pictures to prove it!  On Saturday when we woke up and saw how nice it was outside we decided we wanted to go to the BYU Football Game.  We go once a season and Saturday was the day!  We bought some tickets a couple hours before it started and got a sweet deal!  The weather was great and Kennedy was perfect all day!

I was so worried Kennedy would get cold, but as you can see from our squinting eyes the sun was shining bright and it was quite warm.

Analyzing the game with dad, Kennedy isn't so happy with the last call on the field though.

"If they aren't going to listen to me, I'm going to take a nap."

DSCN0747   I LOVE this picture of Zak and Kennedy and the beautiful fall colors in the background. This was walking back to the car during the 4th quarter to beat the crowds.

After the game we met up with my cousin Kilee and her husband Cody and went to Los Hermanos for dinner! The food was yummy and it was so much fun to talk and catch up on things, but sadly I forgot to take pictures. Thanks for calling Kilee!

That evening we went to a Ryan Shupe & The Rubberband concert. It was lots of fun and we really enjoyed their music!

To top the weekend off we got these adorable pictures of Kennedy in her cute Sunday Dress.

Thanksgiving Point Gardens

My Grandma Jensen invited Kennedy and I to go to the Thanksgiving Point Gardens with her a few weeks ago. The flowers were beautiful and we had a great time.  Thanks Grandma!

As you can see I got a little carried away with the pictures, but I couldn't resist, everything was beautiful!Card Dump 10-5-085

Of course I had to get plenty of pictures of the pretty roses, in honor of Kennedy Rose :)

Fall Drive

A few weeks ago we went for a nice Sunday drive up Squaw Peak Canyon to look at the changing leaves and beautiful colors.  We think we were a little bit early in the season, but we had a good time and the colors were still pretty.  We even got a smile out of Kennedy!

Kennedy wasn't so sure she liked the view at first, because she was interrupted from her cat nap in the car. She was fine once we took her out of the car seat.

More Blessing Day Pictures

DSC_0155I know we already posted some pictures from her blessing day, but I've been messing around with collages on Picasa, so I thought I'd post the ones I created.

Blessing Day

DSC_0396

We blessed Kennedy last week. It was pretty awesome. I think it’s fairly normal to worry that at some point during the blessing your kid is going to grab the microphone and start screaming like James Brown, thus embarrassing you horribly in front of family, friends, and neighbors, all while the bishop frowns in your direction while shaking his head. Needless to say, we did our best to get her prepared for the big day. It turns out that our worries were unfounded and only slightly exaggerated. Kennedy did a great job chillin’ in the circle and she even flashed me some big ol’ smiles which I was grateful for.

We had most of our family over for some grub afterwards and that was a good time.

Once everyone was stuffed an unable to put up a fight, we forced them all to the stairs where I shot them… with my camera.

Oops, Sorry Mom

DSC_0440

I imagine that's what Kennedy was thinking after she spit up all over my face. Word to the wise...don't hold a baby over your face after she's just eaten :) It had been 20 minutes so I figured I was ok. Oh well, it gave us a good laugh that night!!

Zak decided to get it on video before he helped me and Kennedy get cleaned up. I know most of our family has already seen this video, but it's kind of funny so I thought I would still post it. Sorry it's a bit jumpy and kind of hard to hear.

I know I know, I'm a Horrible blogger lately!! I'm going to try and be better. Zak has been the valiant blogger up until now, but he says it's up to me since he's very busy this semester. He is just so good at it so I was perfectly happy to let him post. But I'll try to do my best and post more regularly.

Well, we haven't been up to much since we've been back in Utah. Just trying to get settled back into our house and getting things organized and ready for school to start again. We have been able to visit with some family and friends though, so I'll post a few pictures that I did remember to take.

Not only did Kennedy get to meet her Great Grandparents, we were treated to a delicious garden meal and they also sent us home with lots of fresh garden produce-Thank You!

We have been getting 'real' smiles from Kennedy since she was 4 weeks old and are loving them!

Long Overdue

DSC_0066

Ok, ok, I know it's been way too long. The last few weeks have been busy, but I really have no excuse. So, to start things off, we successfully navigated the road back from Texas to our cozy home in Orem. By "we" I mean "me" because Kate and Kennedy flew directly from San Antonio to St. George (courtesy of Johnson airlines, thanks Jer!) while I drove the 1,200 miles all by my lonesome. The drive really wasn't too bad, so I can't complain.

DSC_0122

Erin is the one in blue. Her husband also did an internship with USAA and I was in the same class with him over the past year of school. We all became good friends over the summer and Erin was kind enough to fly with Kate and Kennedy then meet up with her family and husband in Las Vegas. She is also expecting soon, so I guess it worked out good for both.

Despite being totally nuts going out to Texas this summer and having a baby, we are really glad we did it. Who knows, maybe we'll move back next summer for a more long-term commitment.

Upon my arrival in St. George, I found this:

and this:

She's already got them wrapped around her miniscule finger.

Grandma Barb and Grandpa Kerry held a lovely barbeque in honor of Kennedy to introduce her to more of the Johnson side of the family. Here she is meeting her cousin Arden:

After taking those, I kinda forgot about the camera and didn't take any more pictures during the BBQ. However, to my delight I did find a few gems similar to this on there afterwards:

For those of you who don't recognize the face, that is my foolish, unshaven and elder brother Andy.

We had some car troubles while we were in St. George and ended up staying an extra day, which was good because we needed to take Kennedy to see grandma and grandpa great (Muir). It's a good thing we did too, because grandma elicited what we believe were some non-gassy smiles out of Kennedy and I had the camera handy.

We are glad to be home, and despite the fact that we are still dealing with unpacking all of our boxes, things are going great. We missed Utah.
