Helotes Fall Festival

We got a groupon for the Helotes Fall Festival and decided to go check it out the beginning of October. We were a bit disappointed with the festival, but Kennedy loved the bounce houses and train/hay rides, so I guess in that case it was a success.DSC_0973

She was terrified of bounce houses last fall, so I’m glad she likes them now, she could’ve spent all day in them!

She was too nervous to go down on her bum at first, but we finally got her to turn around and go face forward. She gave us some good laughs going down this slide!DSC_0987

Excited to go on the orange train rideDSC_0990She even got dad to go on both the rides with her.DSC_0997DSC_0999Happy Fall!  We are finally getting some cooler fall weather here in Texas and enjoying it!

Peaches & Enchanted Rock

During the Fourth of July weekend we went and picked peaches at an orchard in Fredericksburg.  This is the same place where we picked strawberries this spring. Zak’s family had a peach orchard growing up and they still have a few trees, so he always loves fresh picked peaches and he knew just how to pick the good ones!DSC_0302Daddy taught Kennedy…aka “Peaches” how to pick the perfect peach! When Kennedy was born her aunt Tracy started calling her Peaches and ever since then Tracy and Gma Barb have been calling her Peaches and it’s kind of stuck! So it was only appropriate that Kennedy learn how to pick the finest peaches!DSC_0306Daddy and Kennedy very pleased with her pick!DSC_0300DSC_0313Peaches proud of her peaches!DSC_0323Best family picture we could getDSC_0326DSC_0339

Enchanted Rock

After picking peaches we headed over to Enchanted Rock (the closest thing to a mountain here) for a nice little family hike. We had a great time together!

DSC_0348Before we started our hike, we saw this crazy car covered in blown glass, signs and all kinds of trinkets in the parking lot. It was pretty interesting to look at! DSC_0351DSC_0355

Kennedy started out doing a little walking, but ended up being carried most of the way.DSC_0362Taking a break in the shade with dadDSC_0365DSC_0373We made it to the top.

Chuck E Cheese & Birthday Fun

Zak left for High Adventure with the scouts in our ward on Kennedy’s actual birthday, so we celebrated the night before when my mom got into town and went to Chuck E Cheese.  This was Kennedy’s first time and she loved it!

DSC_0495The princess in her carriage, this was her favorite ride! DSC_0498

Distracted driving…

DSC_0512

She loved being up high flying in the helicopter, she wasn’t tall enough to reach the pedals (pedaling caused it to fly) so Zak had to pedal them for her :)DSC_0519

She insisted that this horse was Maximus from “Tangled”DSC_0523Very serious cop coming through…

She’s quick to point Chuck E Cheese out now whenever we see it while driving and says, “Hey Mom, maybe we can go to Chuck E Cheese again sometime…maybe next week!”

She’s had a hard time obeying lately so we started an obedience jar that she gets to fill up with warm fuzzies when she makes good choices. When it’s full she gets to choose somewhere to go as a reward…no surprise that it was Chuck E Cheese she chose. Lucky for her the jar is almost full, so a trip back is in her near future.

As you can see she is a big fan of Tangled, the Rapunzel shirt she got from her friend Chandler is her favorite shirt to wear. DSC_0530Very happy and excited Birthday Girl!!DSC_0533

Modeling the cute new dress daddy got her!DSC_0536After daddy left we took Gma Rose to Sea World and partied hard! There’s no time for birthday girls to take naps on their special day, so instead she got to eat popcorn and watch a movie with gma afterwards!  It was so fun to have my mom hear with us for Kennedy’s birthday and while Zak was gone. Can’t believe we have a 3 year old now, where does the time go!?!

Kennedy turns 3!

Kennedy was SO excited to turn 3! We didn’t do a big party this year, but decided last minute to have some of her friends over for cake and ice cream since she had been so excited for her birthday. She LOVES being with all her little friends, so we knew it would make her happy to have them there to celebrate her special day!

DSC_0459What a CUTE 3 year old!DSC_0453

She requested a PINK cake and cupcakes.

I had too much fun making her cake and the delicious strawberry cupcakes, she was pretty happy with all the pink!

DSC_0463

Ever since Kennedy turned 2 she’s always been making ‘cakes’ for us out of anything. So it was fun to see her excitement and watch her blow out the candles on HER very own cake!DSC_0480We are blessed that Kennedy has so many good friends she enjoys playing with, and we are lucky that we enjoy hanging out with their families too!  As you can see they have a lot of fun running around in the play room and jumping on the LoveSac!DSC_0472DSC_0468

I’d say it was a success, a very HAPPY girl and a fun evening with friends!

Uncle KB and Auntie Nee Nee’s Visit

We were lucky enough to have my brother Christian (KB) and his wife Lanee (NeeNee) come out and visit us the end of August. They’ve been in China teaching English for the past year, so it was so fun to see and spend time with them again!

DSC_0871

Crazy picture, but they both just got soaked by Shamu, it was great! We started their visit out by going to Sea World together with Lanee’s brother’s family.  It was fun showing them around and we all had a blast! DSC_0882

Josie and Kennedy became good buddiesDSC_0888Kennedy finally got to take daddy on Elmo’s carousel and down the slide!DSC_0899

One of the days we floated down the Comal River, while Kennedy played at a friend’s house, it was so fun and relaxing! We also played a LOT of games, we love playing games but never find the time, so it’s nice having an excuse when company is here!DSC_0908Kennedy sure loves her Auntie NeeNee, she’s great with her and they always have a fun time playing!DSC_0910Kennedy likes being lifted up on people’s legs and would request Lanee to do it often, Kennedy decided she wanted to give her a turn this time.DSC_0918We took them on a tour of Zak’s work, and it was too hot to have a picnic outside, so we came home and had one in the living room.DSC_0914Had to stop for some froyo at YogurtZone…we love that stuff!DSC_0925         Elmo and Kennedy loved being with Uncle KB.

Thanks for coming to visit, come again soon!

Long time no blog…

IMG_9851e

Thought it might be time for some new pictures of this cutie on the blog! Zak’s very talented sister took these pictures of Kennedy while we were in Bear Lake this summer.

So ya, I’ve taken a LONG break from blogging if you haven’t noticed :)…but I’ve repented of my ways and I’m committed to be better, now that our crazy summer is over. Maybe that means life will slow down now, ha! probably not. I’m still going to try and post about the previous months, even though it’s a daunting task. It’s for my sake since this is basically our scrapbook, so I’ll be playing catch up for awhile. More posts to be coming soon…it’s good to be back!
