Pumpkin Patch

Last Monday evening we went to a local pumpkin patch for family night.  Kennedy had a great time running through the rows of pumpkins and pointing out the bumpy and smooth ones. We had fun taking pictures and then Kennedy got to pick out her own pumpkin, she calls it her ‘baby pumpkin’ and loves carrying it around everywhere.

DSC_0961 DSC_0965 DSC_0977 DSC_0979 She loved this saddle and would say “neighhh” and bounce up and down like she was riding the horse.DSC_0990 She kept trying to pick up these huge pumpkins and then say in a strained voice, “It’s heavy!”

This is what we got when we told her to look at the camera and smile, there were too many other orange distractions to see :)

Lake Powell

The second half of our Utah trip was spent at Lake Powell with my family. My brother and his wife left for China 3 days later to teach English for a year, so it was one last hurrah before they left. The weather was seriously perfect, and it was so fun being all together, we had a blast! Overload of pictures ahead…DSC_0285 Captain Kennedy! “Helping” grandpa drive the boat. DSC_0313 She loved swimming with Aunt Nene! Kennedy is the only grandchild on my side so she was definitely spoiled with attention the whole time we were there by grandparents, uncles and her aunt! The long drive home was a boring one with just mom and dad. DSC_0319Lake Powell 20101 She got to go on lots of wave runner rides with Spencer and daddyo, she loved it!Lake Powell 2010Our little Beach BabeDSC_0347 Chillin with grandpaDSC_0331 Zak busy building the sandcastle cityDSC_0362 The finished product and buildersDSC_0847

We parked the houseboat in such a beautiful spot! DSC_0444 Thanks to grandma we were able to go out on the boat child-free! DSC_0740Relaxing on the “Relaxation Station.” Kennedy loved this thing, it was like her own little swimming pool in the middle. She’d jump and splash around and was the center of attention.DSC_0763 Gma great even joined us at the lake and Kennedy always made sure she had her attention too, “Hi gma great, watch gma great!”DSC_0758Making pancakes with daddyo  DSC_0780 DSC_0790 We had so much fun tubing! Lots of laughs and maybe a few bruises…but so worth it!DSC_0792We started with two on the single tube and 3 on the double and one by one all transferred to the single tube!DSC_0797  Success! We got all 5 of us on one tube!DSC_0798Us tubing and Christian wake-skating all at the same time!DSC_0874 Uncle Spencer got this BYU hat for Kennedy, so just before we left we had to get some pictures of them in their matching hats. Whenever she sees the hat, she says “Go Cougars!” or “Spencer gave it”DSC_0877Lake Powell holds many fond memories for Zak and I so it was sure fun to be able to spend part of our summer there and have Kennedy enjoy it with us! We LOVE Lake Powell!

Quadrangle Park

Last Friday we went with some friends to Quadrangle Park in Fort Sam Houston to feed the deer, ducks, geese and peacocks.  It was really neat to see all the animals and have them eat the carrots and apples right out of our hands. The kids had a great time. We’ll definitely be going back again!

DSC_0920DSC_0921 She was a bit scared at first when they came right up to us, but soon got brave and wanted to feed the deer a carrot herself!DSC_0922 DSC_0933 We were watching our friend Allie that day, so she came too, but I couldn’t get a picture of both of them looking at me at the same time :) Allie even got brave and fed the deer too.DSC_0937 DSC_0935I’m not sure who ate more carrots and apples…the kids or the animals :)DSC_0915 Both these deer wanted Maddie’s carrot!DSC_0914We threw this apple down for the deer but this peacock got to it first and pecked at and ate half of it, it was funny to watch!Spencer's Photos1   Chasing the deer  DSC_0945 We are always finding new fun things to do in San Antonio and love doing them with friends!

St. George Trip

We drove to St. George the middle of August for a quick vacation to see our families!  It was a long 20 hour drive, but we survived and it wasn’t nearly as bad as we thought it might be. Kennedy actually did really well.  We spent the first couple of days in St. George seeing family and had a great time! Sadly, I didn’t take as many pictures as I would’ve liked of our happenings, but here’s what I did get.

DSC_0111Playing with Grandma BarbDSC_0105 I thought this picture was funny of her “sweeping” the floor and it shows the adorable skirt Gma Barb made her!DSC_0114

We went to the splash pad with aunt Sharla and cousin Bree (sadly I didn’t get any pictures with them.) Kennedy had a blast!

DSC_0123 DSC_0127 DSC_0136 We got our family pictures taken and also took Jensen family pictures! It turned out to be a bit difficult with a 2 year old, but we managed to get a few good ones.DSC_0153 DSC_0210 DSC_0227    We even got to celebrate with my dad on his birthday!DSC_0270 DSC_0279 Kennedy loved helping him blow out the candles!DSC_0271DSC_0273After the birthday celebrations we headed to Lake Powell- that post coming soon!
