Holidays in Utah!

We were able to spend Dec. 18-29 in Utah for the Holidays.  It was so fun to be back in St. George and be together with both of our families!

We spent the first few days with my family at our cabin in Pine Valley. It was nice to be all together again. It was such a relaxing time; we enjoyed playing lots of games, sledding and playing in the snow, the sauna, watching movies, eating yummy food, an early Christmas with Christian and Lanee and just being together with everyone!

Reading her new Pinkalicious book with aunt Lanee  Kennedy helped open these chocolates and as soon as she saw what they were, she looked up at Lanee and started signing and saying ‘pees’  (please) in the cutest little voice. It’s hard to deny her anything when she asks so politely! Kennedy loved going outside with dad, but hated coming back in. Kennedy wearing Grandpa’s big crazy neon gloves! The rest of our time we spent in St. George with both our families. We were also able to spend some time with friends catching up, which was nice. Our Christmas morning started at 2 am with Kennedy throwing up. Poor girl got the flu and was up all night throwing up every 10 minutes! So, sadly we don’t have many pictures from Christmas day. Opening Pajamas with the cousins on Christmas Eve

We were supposed to fly home Sunday evening, Dec. 27, but Zak got the nasty flu bug the night before and I got it that morning.  Zak had to be to work that Monday and luckily he was better Sunday so we sent him home alone.  The flu hit me hard and zapped my energy, so I ended up staying until Tuesday afternoon until I had the energy to fly home with Kennedy.  It was a bummer way to end our trip, but we still had a great time the rest of it.  Sadly Kennedy passed the flu bug to a total of 8 of us, so I think our families were ready for us to leave and take the bug back to Texas with us!

Once back in Texas we opened up our presents from each other and had fun watching Kennedy play with her new toys. It was kind of fun having Christmas spread out over a week.Love that cute smile and cute girl! 

Thanks to our families for making our Christmas and time in Utah so wonderful! We love being with you and appreciate all you do for us! We are so blessed to have such great supportive families.

San Antonio Zoo

We took this little monkey to the Zoo and she had a blast seeing all the animals!      “Ok guys, I’m looking at the camera, hurry take the picture!” Although the picture doesn’t show it, she was having a good time.We loved watching the monkeys!  The little one kept trying to get away, but the mom kept pulling him back by the tail. There were a few new baby monkeys too, they were all fun to watch. Kennedy loved following these cute girls around and trying to help them feed the swans. Lions, Sleeping Tigers and Bears, oh my!   

We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Thanksgiving

My parents came out and spent a few days with us for Thanksgiving. It was so nice having them here and just being together. Kennedy loved playing with “maama” and “papa” and I’m pretty sure they loved playing with her! It was fun hosting my first Thanksgiving! Of course we had to get some good ‘ol Texas bbq while they were here, Rudy’s is good stuff!

We were grateful to have them here to share the holiday with us.

Great Grandma Visit

My Grandma Jensen came out to visit for 5 days this past week.  It was fun to have her here and show her around San Antonio. We tried to keep busy in between Kennedy’s naps.

We went and had lunch with Zak at work, so she could see USAA. Went downtown to see The Alamo and the River Walk. We explored the San Antonio Zoo, went to La Cantera, tried a new yummy mexican restaurant and of course introduced her to Blue Bell Ice Cream! She was kind enough to watch Kennedy one evening, so we could go on a date, which was wonderful! Sadly the San Antonio Temple was closed while she was here, but we still took her over to see it and just walked around.  We also had fun watching UP, playing games, enjoying the beautiful weather and just having her here. Kennedy provides quite a bit of entertainment these days, so we’d just sit around and watch her a lot too. She sure loved having someone new around and the extra attention, she followed grandma around everywhere she went.

She loved our ward trunk or treat, and thought it was pretty cool that people would give her candy when she held out her hand and signed please!

  Her pouch came in handy to hold all her candy! She’d reach down and grab another piece when she couldn’t figure out how to open her current one :)

Jumping like a Kangaroo! She loves wearing her costume, she brings it over to us all the time wanting to put it on. Are we done taking pictures yet?  She sure makes a cute Kangaroo!
